What is Hypermiling?

so what's the new buzz all about? What is Hypermiling?

Evidently, with gas prices superhigh everyone's out there trying to figure out what to do to improve on their gas mileage... Enter the term Hypermiling.

So, from what I understand, Hypermiling is the study of war concentration of finding ways to dramatically improve your gas mileage. The funny thing is, Hypermiling sounds just like a fancy term for ways to improve your gas mileage. I'll be taking a look at what Hypermiling is and see if it really makes any difference or what so special about it but so far, what I have discovered is that Hypermiling is really doing some simple things like...

Making sure that your gas tank and never gets lower than one quarter tank full. If your quarter tank or less, what happens is you have dirty guess that it has a problem with your gas mileage.

The other thing is making sure that you go to a gas station that is busy. By going to a busy gas station you're sure that the gas is fresh. Still gas often has water in it and that decreases your gas mileage.

The other thing I've learned about Hypermiling is that you want to do things like drive the speed limit, they cheered at speeding up and slowing down quickly, and doing other things like growing up your windows of your driving fast to minimize wind resistance, and even using your air-conditioner when you're going to fast. The other things you wanted to or make sure you take a look at your tires and that they're properly inflated, and that they're not out of alignment.

So Hypermiling equals optimizing your gas usage.
